We did some things different this Easter as we now attend a church that follows closely the church calendar. It was neat to see all the traditions that come with Easter that I never knew about and how inter-related the coming of spring and the message of Christ's resurrection really is. There is a reason we celebrate Easter in the spring, with everything coming to life again!
During this time, Sarah and I made some spring crafts we found in a Family Fun magazine we checked out at the library. We decorated our nature table with birds we made out of yarn and we also made a tiered dessert/muffin/egg platter out of paper products. We even had fun decorating eggs with me actually tie-dyeing one! I took one of Dan's old silk ties, wrapped an egg in it and boiled it! The print from the tie came off onto the egg. Very fun!
Here are some pictures of our spring projects:
The first picture is our Easter breakfast. Our tiered dessert/muffin tray is in the middle of the table. The next two are of our birds we put on our nature table to signify spring coming.
