Paula at Wakefield Academy has given our blog an award! Paula and I met on the Well Trained Mind Forum, where I go to find out about home school curriculum and talk about home school issues with other mothers who are using similiar models of education as my own. Paula also was one of my encouragers in starting a blog, so we're also "blogging buddies." Thanks, Paula, for your gift! The award came with this explanation of why we were one to receive it:“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy] "They are all charming blogs, and the majority of them aim to show the marvels of friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?" Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”
Okay. I'm supposed to pass on this award to eight other bloggers. Since I'm new to blogging, my "blogging community" is quite small and Paula already gave awards out to other blog friends, so I'm going to pick eight blogs that have helped me, in some way, on my homeschool journey. Here are my picks {drum roll please!}:
Jessica at Trivium Academy
Jessica could definitely be put into the "Super Blogger" category. I'm amazed at her planning abilities and her attention to detail, even down to how beautiful she makes her blog! I've enjoyed reading about Jessica's home school journey, especially what she is doing in the way of science and nature study, one of my weak areas!
Barb at Handbook of Nature Study
I have really enjoyed seeing how to practically incorporate nature study into a home school setting. Barb hosts "Outdoor Hour" challenges to really make the study of nature not so overwhelming. I love getting her updates and especially enjoy all the gorgeous pictures she posts.
Rose at Dragons in the Flower Bed
Rose is a fellow Latin Centered Curriculum home schooler who probably doesn't even know I read her blog! I have appreciated Rose's sense of beauty she portrays and have been challenged by thinking about quality in the books we study.
Angela at MommyLawyer
Angela makes me laugh with the pictures of her kids she posts! I like to see what she is up to and think her blog design is beautiful. I'm amazed she can juggle so many hats and even has time to blog!
Katy at My Nut Village
Katy has a unique sense of humour as well, and says the most profound things in the funniest ways!
Lisa at Koinonia Academy
Every time I visit Koinonia Academy I wish I lived close to the ocean! Lisa is an encourager and I've gleaned many ideas for nature study/homeschool projects from her as well as coming away with ideas on what to have for dinner!
Anj at Angela's Blogging, Woo Hoo
Anj is full of joy and really shows her heart on her blog. She is also one who said to me: "If I can blog, you can too!" And, I LOVE her name!
Plaid Dad at Running River Latin School
Plaid Dad is so very helpful when I need Latin help. He is also the author of the book The Latin Centered Curriculum which is our home school model for this year.
Thanks to all of you who have made my home school journey a little easier and a little more fun! And, thanks to all the ladies who received an award from Paula! You're my "blogging buddies" too!

Thanks so much for the award...I am always delighted to get to know who reads my blogs. Somedays I get up and wonder who exactly my readers are and now I got to meet you. :)
Thanks so much for the award and I will post it on the Handbook of Nature Study blog.

Oh! Thank you, thank you! What a pleasant surprise! And I love visiting your blog, too!
I've told my husband about the name of your blog and laugh at the "Dangie" part... My husband's name is Richard and we often refer to ourselves collectively as "Rangie."
Thank you again!
