Building 429 and World Vision

Our family has "adopted" three kids through a World Vision program.  For the past two years we have supported Timothy from Uganda, Sona from India, and Jodeline from Haiti.  Our money helps pay for their education, plus basic necessities like clean water. Because of this, World Vision had contacted us to volunteer at a music concert that took place last Thursday in our little city.  This group, Building 429, is a Christian rock band who talks about World Vision kids at their concerts.  World Vision sets up a table and those attending the concert are given a chance to sponsor a child.  Dan and I worked at the table, talking about our own expericences with World Vision, and helping those interested in sponsoring a child fill out paperwork.  The lead singer of the band's wife was the one in charge of the table.  As the night went on, she found out we homeschool some of our kids and had lots of questions for us.  She is on staff with World Vision and actually gets paid to travel around with her husband's band!  Their kids also travel with them and so she told us it would be natural for her to homeschool them when they got a little older.

It was nice to get out of the house for the evening and share our love for kids in need with others! But, I realized as the night wore on that I'm getting old. The music was LOUD!
