This zoo is divided up into continents. There is an African area, South American area, Australian area, etc. The new exhibit, Amazonia, was really neat. It was created to look like a part of the Amazon rain forest, complete with a waterfall! One of my favorite animals to see was the Cappyboppy. Maybe because I had read a book by that name so long ago to the kids. I enjoyed seeing one in real life. The porcupines were cute too.
Sarah and Rachel will be studying animals and their habitats next year as part of their Life Science course. I am excited to use the zoo as a resource for their studies! I would have loved to spend a little bit more time at each exhibit, studying the habitats of the different animals, but we will have to wait until next year. I'll also have to check out the zoo educational programs that they offer to see if anything will work for us. It was a fun field trip day!
