Working on the doll house

If you know Sarah well, you know that she is one persistent little girl! Ever since she received her doll house from her Grandma and Grandpa, she's been asking when we're going to work on it! We've searched for furniture and accesories online, we've gone to the Goodwill to see if we could find any goodies, and we've been on the watch at local stores that we frequent. I keep telling her that it takes time to decorate a doll house and we can't just rush into it. This will be a keepsake for years to come and I want her to learn patience in the midst of perseverance! After thinking long and hard {it only took 5 days for her to do that!} she had her doll house "plan." Yep. A plan. What a good little organizer she is! And, when I mean plan, I mean one written on a clip board, not just in her head! On Friday, she turned her doll house around so the rooms were facing her, named all the rooms, wrote the names down, and then proceeded with how she would decorate each one! At first, she thought wall paper was the only option, but then I implanted the idea in her head to use paint too. And then, silly me, gave her the idea of stenciling! Now, why did I do that? She LOVED that idea! So, the inevitable was upon us. Actually starting the decorating! It could wait no longer! First, we primed the walls that were going to be painted, which took most of our time. But, I managed to put up wall paper, that I had on hand, in one room, and paint one room. Actually, I painted two rooms! I forgot about the kitchen, which is white! We also primed and painted the ceilings, so we are on our way! Sarah is very excited about it all and I'm hoping I'll stay sane through this whole process!

The top photo is when we were first getting started.  The second photo is what we have done so far!
